Of course the Indians of North America are embarrassed at the name “Washington Redskins”.
They really don’t want the name of the city, Washington, associated with the noble and heroic designation of their collective race, the North American indigenous people from pre-Columbian times.
The Great White Father that was the symbol of Washington, DC, did not do all that well by the real living redskin Indians.
