Because monarchy is the form of government that God allowed. The only one.
That’s not biblically provable. Democracies have come and gone, as have kingdoms.
But philosophically, I agree that people WANT monarchy. The way America was able to fare as well as it did, was that there was a consensus, across all segments of Christendom which constituted an unusually high proportion of early America, that only Jesus should be their king. And so it went, fairly well at first.
Anyhow, people, even conservatives, seem to be perfectly happy with Barack in the role of emperor now. Calvinball being played with Obamacare? The reaction is more a sigh of relief than indignation that We The People are not getting our constitution followed.
