It has nothing to do with defeatism, it has to do with reality. Candidates need money, especially federal candidates, and lots of it. It’s hard enough to beat incumbents, even harder when you have no money. There have been instances where candidates badly outspent have won, but they tend to be rare. You need money to get out a message and signal to others you’re serious about winning. If Roche was closer to $150 or $300k, I’d regard him more of a serious candidate. With $2,695, it’s hard to consider him more than desultory opposition.

If you need an example, look at Katrina Pierson against Pete Sessions in TX-32. She was well regarded by the grassroots and Tea Partiers. She also had no money. She lost by a wide margin. We have the same problem with Lamar!’s opponent here in Tennessee for Senator. Very little money.

Well, you certainly have down pat the arguments used by defenders of incumbent RINOs and put out by the League of RINO Protectors.

As for me, I’ll stand and work with those who believe in Constitutional values and are not puppets of the GOPe eager to have waves upon waves of 10 Million Illegal Aliens. And believe me, the current Amnesty being surreptitiously pushed will be followed by others later—and Renee Ellmers will be feathering her personal nest.
