Well, he had to say that. He can’t very well do a duet with her and then slam her music. The question is, did she give him a meat tuxedo?

I have the album where Lady Gaga sings ‘The Lady is a Tramp’ It’s even better when she sang it with Tony Bennett on TV.
I pretty much agree with him that most music today is terrible. Unfortunately there is no more Bing Crosbys, Frank Sinatras Doras Days, or Peggy Lees.

"he lost me on Lady Gaga"

Did you watch/listen to the video? She does a good job of it.

All of Tony Bennett's "duets" are on YouTube. Amy Winehouse, Gloria Estefan, KD Lang, etc

Gaga has great talent and knows how to target her audience...which is making her mega bucks. That's what it's all about isn't it?

Ya think for an instant that Tony Bennet and all the others weren't in it for profit?

Gaga will eventually morph as her audience changes and will continue to be a hit..........

"He had me, then he lost me on Lady Gaga."

I actually think Lady Gaga has a lot of talent, but her recent stage antics are a big turn-off.

Lolz. Overall, he's right though. As far as Top 40 goes, I think the high point was the mid-sixties through the early seventies.

I think of absolute jewels like "Touch Me in the Morning" by Diana Ross, "Say a Little Prayer" by Dionne Warwick, and countless others. Nothing comes close today. It's mostly synth dance/trance music. And rap barely qualifies as music.
