Haven't read all the comments but hopefully someone addressed this before I did here.
IF its in Pakistan...admitting it publicly would be the absolute WORST thing we could do.
If its there...but we don't know exactly where yet....WHY would you say so? It's called OPSEC. 80% of all intel used by terrorists is open source (OSINT).
If its there....the best move that Obama COULD make would be to say its in the southern Indian Ocean until we can launch an op using our SPECOPS capabilities.
Some of you seem to think its wrong to hide this....when in fact it would be the best thing we could do. It buys time. The last thing we want is to let the terrorists know we are on to them. That would mean they might speed up their use of this aircraft and we would miss the window.
By continuing to say in the media we know its south....that makes them take their time and we may have time to stop it before it happens.
Its really BAD OPSEC on the part of LTG McInerney to be saying this. If he DOES know this for sure...he should be going along with the southern Indian Ocean narrative for the good of the country.
