“The states have everything to do with it. Every dollar of support is matched by the Feds so it behooves the states to destitute the fathers. I think both parties should be financially responsible for the children not just the fathers.
If it was “for the kids” as they say then whoever makes the most money should get the children. Custody should be a simple case of both parties presenting proof of income and whoever makes the most gets the kids.’
While I agree totally that both parties should be responsible for their children’s welfare, the state is not responsible for the choice a father, OR mother may make in contrast to their responsibility as parents. No one should have to tell another that they have a responsibility to their children.
Children are not our pawns. It’s irresponsible parenting that creates complicated custody issues, not the states. Whoever is the most RESPONSIBLE should be the one to get the “kids”....not the one who makes the most money.
If ya can’t afford babies, don’t make em. Do you think it fair for the child(ren) of men and women who cannot understand this simple concept, to have that kind of lot in life? Fathers destitute themselves by their lack of accountability, mostly. Same as for deadbeat mothers...which are increasing each day. You know...people always have some selfish excuse as to why they can’t step up to the plate and take care of their children. I don’t suppose that will ever end.
CS is just a redistribution of wealth. Like I said before take away the Feds money and the states would not even care about those kids.
Even if a guy is paying on his own the CS folks still want the money to come to them first so the can “monitor” and get their cut.
All the single dads I know don’t get or even bother with child support from the mothers.
