We would see far less absent fathers if they would just be accountable for what they help to create. The state has nothing to do with it...except having to take the financial heat and chase deadbeat parents around to “make” them pay for their own children.

There are also many single mothers who do not pursue support, either...for one reason or another.

The states have everything to do with it. Every dollar of support is matched by the Feds so it behooves the states to destitute the fathers. I think both parties should be financially responsible for the children not just the fathers.

If it was “for the kids” as they say then whoever makes the most money should get the children. Custody should be a simple case of both parties presenting proof of income and whoever makes the most gets the kids.
