I borrowed a book on Colonial Williamsburg. I didn’t realize how old it was until I saw a picture of black school children on a field trip - little girls in pink dresses, white stockings and Mary Janes, boys in neat pants worn to the waist, shirts buttoned to the collar. 1970, so long ago.
I visited Colonial Williamsburg in 1971. It had been in business as a restored colonial tourist attraction for some time by then.
