Rand Paul is the only candidate that would sign the laws necessary to limit the power of the President. We need him for that reason - I’m voting for him.
If Rand Paul is not pure enough for you, I suggest you’re out of luck.

Liberal, is staking out a position against the conservatives and conservatism as Rand kicks off his campaign.

Again, I prefer Cruz for the reasons you just stated.
But extreme limited-government types like Paul will get a lot of social conservative goals achieved simply because liberal agenda fails without taxpayer money to spread it.
Moreover, at least he would return such fights to the states where we could win the issues.
In short, yes, it’s not remotely perfect, but it’s not failing like most of the other RINO idiots.
Gay marriage and social liberalism at the federal level are big government, not small government, and Paul is running for federal office.
If Rand got 3 or 4% of the Howard crowd or these people that would be a net gain.
They aren’t representative of the youth who will vote in swing states.
Rand has a newsflash for Rush. You can’t lock illegals up in camps.
A Rand presidency would also be constrained by Congress, the courts and public opinion. It would be nice to have a guy willing to eliminate and combine departments.
For cost cutting and deficit reducing purposes.
