While the superintendent of Linden Community Schools is calling it an honest mistake, many others are wondering what the veteran teacher could have been thinking when she allowed students in her fifth grade class to try ODouls beer.
While ODouls is advertised an a non-alcoholic beer, the beverage actually contains less than half of a percent (.5%) alcohol.
That was definitely a bad mistake, said Linden resident Susie Lamb.

Fake beer with only half a percent alcohol I cant get very excited about. You should ( or really, shouldn’t) see what kids in many large cities are “ into” these days. Also, has anyone ever checked into the health consequences of public school. “ mystery meat?” ( otherwise known now as Soylent Brown)?
When I was a kid, I ate tons of candy cigarettes--they were among my favorite types of candy. While doing so, the thought of smoking real ones never crossed my mind, and I have never smoked a cigarette in my life.
Minor mistake. But these same education thugs will put a child in prison for a pocket knife in a tackle box.
I did so as well. We also had toy cigarettes with a painted red tip. You blew through the cigarette and a puff of dust would fly out the tip. My remarks were pointing out that a teacher has no business promoting a habit such as that, regardless of what a child does outside of school that may or may not lead to the child taking up the habit as an adult. I also don't believe that teachers should be in the habit of showing elementary children how to put on a condom. Let them teach the three R's, and leave adult affairs to the parents of these children.
I remember when Miss Crabtree gave her kids ice cream and cake, she had it delivered and served by workers of the creamery.
As long as the kids don’t die then it’s all hunky dory I suppose
Lol
Die? From giving BJs or drinking 0.5% alcohol Odouls? Seems it would require a phenomenal excess of either.
You should put a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream in a glass of Vernors! Dang, now I am craving a Boston Cooler....
At Christmnas & New Years we fill the punch bowl with Vernor’s, Welches Cranberry Juice, & Scoops of Orange Sherbit Ice cream.
