A little history is in order here. Montana elected Jeanette Rankin to the U.S. Senate before the 18th amendment was even voted out of congress. Her main claim to fame is as the only person in congress who voted against our entry in to both World War I and World War II.

The western states were way ahead of the rest of the country in women's rights. Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, Colorado and Montana were the first to give them the right to vote and hold office. Part of the motivation was because the men wanted to attract the more sturdy women from the east to come out and settle.

Typical idiocy of the left. No points for merit, hard work, individual accomplishment. All about sex, race, “equality”. Unreal.

No kidding! Lots of flakes do go there for the isolation (like the Unabomber), but not that many!

So, now only women will be able to run for office state wide, or certain districts, or what? Basically people won’t be able to vote for their choice of representative anymore.

"WTF? In Montana?

Western Montana has been loony since it was settles by socialist Scandanaviqns, Scots, Irish, and English in the 1880s and 1890s. In 1919 there was a communist led strike in western Montana: "The miners strike in Butte (Montana) was led by a “council of soldiers, sailors and workers” in which almost all of Butte’s trade unions participated. As in Europe, “councils” or “soviets” were being formed at that time as organizations of all the workers, transcending trade union divisions, with a view to a long struggle, but not as insurrectionary organs." Source marxism.org....

Montana has a split personality however; eastern Montana is very conservative, probably due to the number of settlers from the post-civil war south and the harshness of life there.
