MURRAY, Ky. (AP) - Texas Gov. Rick Perry threw his support behind U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell on Saturday, telling 300 fellow Republicans that the minority leader will win re-election.
McConnell finds himself in a GOP primary fight with wealthy businessman Matt Bevin, who attended the event but wasnt allowed to speak.

So, whats the scandal here? Palin endorsed McCain during the primary in 2010. Who cares? Bevin is not going to win, so its a smart political move.
It's called a matter of principle, and if you are going to lead, especially if you want Tea-Party support, you'd better lead with it!

Who cares? Bevin is not going to win, so its a smart political move. If a McConnell win were certain, Perry would have been wiser to withhold endorsement from either.
Perry was probably well paid to voice his support for McConnell. However, Perry will never again get any majority of TEA Party support for any campaign.
