They thought they couldn’t be fired. Reagan proved them wrong.

Those other items you discuss are what we would find out in a debate and campaign literature, as it is, a lot of folks arent sure on how to handle the Ukraine But that doesn't keep a lot of people from measuring his drapes for the Oval Office. People are cranking up his bandwagon for a total unknown.

This is PA. Union thuggery and voter fraud are endemic to PA. If it weren't for these 2 factors PA would be a red state.
Not comparing Santorum to Reagan but Reagan lost some elections too.

If Ben Carson were to buy a fully auto 50 BMG and say Molon Labe in a commercial, perhaps he would regain some of my trust as then he would be putting it all on the line for the 2A. Until then, they are mere words.

Yeah....living so close to the beltway tends to warp one.
zer0, the messiah of the left says he ‘evolved’ about gay marriage.
perhaps Ben Carson is ‘evolving’...time will tell...I will keep an eye open for his epiphany(or lack thereof)

22 years protecting this country as a military leader counts as ‘nothing` to you? And I’m yet to hear anyone speak as forcefully against the welfare state state that we have become. Who are your potential candidates and how many years have they been in office?

Fine, and I will go by the Constitution and what the Framers meant and not my own interpretation.

Cruz is my man for 2016, and the point about years in office is merely that that’s often the only circumstance by which we see them acting on their political views.
Just like a surgeon running a department in a hospital, being a colonial is a position within a fine profession—and it gives one some experience in middle management.
I don’t want to kick West out of the party or a future role in politics, he just wouldn’t be hoisted on the pedestal we’ve put him on if, again, he weren’t a black Republican.

those damn bots started attacking everyone to try and clear the field for ___
There were bots for many candidates and a few who were not even running.
Shucks. Just for aggravation, I used to mention something about Bushbots, and they would come out of the woodwork to respond with their attacks.

There have only been 3 sitting US Senators elected President
The problem now is that we have nearly 100 senators who think they could be president.
2004 - Kerry, sitting senator
2008 - too many to list -- from both parties, and both parties fielded senators as their nominees
2012 - Santorum, and he didn't gain enough to be a strong 2nd or 3rd
==
I have posted many times that senators are at the bottom of my preference lists, because they are little more than professional bloviators. They give a speech and they think an issue is resolved.

He changed his mind. Now doesn’t even think guns should be registered.

he changed his mind
Whenever a candidate or potential candidate claims to have seen the light or changed his/her mind, RUN!
Chances are they only changed their mind/position to placate a certain set of voters. If they are already changing their minds so far in advance, what makes anyone think they won't change it back if they do get elected?
We have enough chameleons in Washington now. We don't need more.

To: BeadCounter
Yeah. He was our senator here. He is a politician and not perfect but a decent guy. Devout Catholic, pro life, pro 2nd Amend., no amnesty, no special rights for perverts.
Heck of a lot better than McCain, Romney, Christie, Jeb Bush, Rubio...
Just don't understand the level of dislike some have for him.

You're a hypocrite if Cruz is your man when you used # of votes as the primary criteria against West. Your patronizing comments about a genuine American hero who talks the talk and has walked the walk is disgraceful. The welfare state, work ethic, and family responsibility would be addressed better by West than anyone. He's proven himself a leader and protector of this country more than anyone on the horizon and could also address the ever increasing rift between races caused by Obama better than anyone else.
It's quite obvious that you want Cruz simply because he's Spanish.

yeah I just read that....but I also read he was wavering on that point... its what happens when one lives in the beltway area for so long.
he is right on so many issues, I would love to see him come to his senses on this issue....
