KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) -- The search for the missing Malaysian jetliner expanded east and west on Friday after American officials said it was emitting signals to satellites for hours after its last contact with air traffic control nearly a week ago over the South China Sea.
Malaysian officials insisted that investigators had yet to reach a definitive conclusion on what radar and satellite data showed, and said the search was being expanded because efforts in current areas have not found any wreckage from the Boeing 777.
The possibility that the plane, carrying 239 people, flew many hundreds of miles (kilometers) beyond its last known location without any contact with the ground has strengthened speculation that its transponders and other communication devices were turned off deliberately.

Can't believe I'm in agreement with Bill Nye(the globull warming/no-science guy)...until they thoroughly search the area around the last know position, everything else is conjecture and conspiracy theorist noise(mostly from people who've watched too much TV...or want to get their face on TV).
The media(as usual)is turning this into yet another soap opera/reality TV show.

IF this aircraft emits any electronic signals the US is/has been able to determine it’s location. I tend to think our intelligence folks know where it is. They’re watching to determine what the end game is.

With all the technology we have today, humans on this planet cannot find an airplane and dont even know where to look. Looking back at naval air battles in the Pacific during WWII, considering the technology of the day, it's a marvel they were able to find each other, let alone engage in battle.

Was the Writ of Habeas Corpus?
Were newspaper editors that spoke against the sitting president jailed?
Did it matter since the opposing force formed its own country and had its own elections?

" Generally speaking.... How the hell does a 777 just go missing? "
From what I get from the news and what I have read there were no distress calls from the pilot nor was there any signals from the plane it's self.
I do not believe this plane just vanished out of thin air like in the Bermuda triangle either.
This is far more nefarious, could it be possible that a foreign communist government sent their military jets up in the air and escorted the plane to a hidden military base to use as some kind of ransom ?
They don't know where the plane is, and planes that do crash send out all kinds of signals from the plane and beacon pings.

Agreed. You need to follow the path of the snake back to the nest.

Somewhere, someone has 239 hostages.
While the world is kept in the dark about this, there are either delicate negotiations happening or a full scale military rescue operation.

Bingo, and hidden at a foreign country communist government military base.
What if ? this is a false flag ? a air plane to look like F370 ? could have put on false decals to make it look like a Malaysian Airline jet.
Have the families of those people actually reported that their loved ones have gone missing ?
To: ryan71
It’s also critical to remember that 20 of the “hostages” are employees of Freescale Semiconductor, a major defense contractor that specializes in electronic warfare systems.

” IF this aircraft emits any electronic signals the US is/has been able to determine its location. “ yes sir, your so right, they already know where it is, but aren’t letting the public know.

Coastwatchers, spies, aerial recon seaplanes, and the codebreakers of the Imperial Japanese foreign office's 'Purple' machines had a lot to do with finding the IJN's surface fleets. All of these factors coming together took many months of immense effort of manpower and money ahead of the battles of Midway, The Coral Sea, and Leyte Gulf.
Here with Malaysian Airlines, this is one little plane lost for six days so far.

Did it have enough fuel to fly to Diego Garcia (for the tin-foil hat conspiracy crowd)?

Put a nuke in it and fly it over our mid west. A 20 m-ton emp would wipe out our electrical grid and communications.
To: DownInFlames
That has crossed my mind, too. If the aircraft was flying at 35K+ feet I don’t know how large the EMP would spread.

...Until they thoroughly search the area around the last know position, everything else is conjecture and conspiracy theorist noiseFrom my understanding, that's the problem. The last known position that is being reported to the public keeps changing.

The extra fuel would not have had to be put in at last location. If they added X amount then someone else could have put a larger amount in earlier
Where did the plane come from?

Virtually none. It would need to be well over 100k feet to produce any. It would be useful to get an airburst going at 3k-5k feet or whatever though. And of course as a ramming jet. Or bio/chem but that would take a lot of modification that I doubt any smaller group would be able to do.

I think it’ll have either an Iranian or NorK nuke on board and fly over either DC or Wall Street. A financial or political decapitation of the US would set Israel to be invaded by Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood nations surrounding her.
