This aircraft is going to be used in a major terrorist op against the US before the November 2014 elections in order to save the Dems’ butts. Historically, the Republican Party has been seen as the "go to" party on foreign issues. The Democrat Party is usually seen as better on domestic issues. That is what the whole, "It's the Economy, Stupid" argument was about. When terrorism or foreign issues threaten, people tend to look to Republicans for leadership.
The missing airplane could be used to distract from Obamacare, though.
