I believe many of you are mistaken in the belief that anyone is happy someone is dead. We are happy that we have a right to defend our homes.
This is a tragedy that I am certain that everyone involved will pay a price for in some way and probably for many years.
I raised four daughters and had my unfair share of boys hanging around my house! No one ever entered my home after 10PM - I have since found out that one of my daughters left after 10PM a few times, but no boys were ever brought into my home. My daughters were told plain and simple, “If I find someone in my house other than those who live here, after 10PM, I SHOOT FIRST AND ASK QUESTIONS LATER!” Since I had ran off more than enough less-than-worthy suitors, scolded those who needed scolding and demanded that ALL suitors have a sit down meal with me and my family before they even went on a first date, my daughters knew that I meant it. In speaking with my adult daughters, they have told me they believed it.
In this situation, you have a heated situation, in the middle of the night, an argument ensues and the boy moves, I am not going to try to do an investigation, I am going to protect me and my family first and investigate after the perceived threat is gone. More than anything, I am thankful that I have that right to defend me and my family in this manner.
Prayers for all involved! They are going to need it!
Well said. I pray that I never have to violently defend myself or my family, for any reason at all.
“I believe many of you are mistaken in the belief that anyone is happy someone is dead”
When people say stuff like “good riddance”, then I don’t think it’s a mistake to assume they are happy with the outcome.
damn. effin. straight.
and as we age, consider you have several disparity of force arguments on your side to justify using equal or greater force than you perceive the perp may or may not have.
