not necessarily. At least they have a location. I wonder how deep?

2-3 minutes falling from 35,000 feet is not a good way to go. however it does give you time to say your prayers if the initial explosion doesn’t get you.

As far as I know large airplanes don’t carry life rafts.

My guess is they’ll say this part of the ocean is about 55,000 feet deep and filled with active volcanoes.

Every commercial airliner carries them.

Many years ago when I worked commercial aviation, any aircraft that flew more than 40 miles from land was required to carry life rafts. Now, I don’t know.

Oh, for Pete’s sake, Port Dickson is about 40 miles south of Kuala Lumpur. This is all Twilight Zone stuff.

Is it just me, or does there seem to be a deliberate attempt by the Malaysian authorities to completely screw up the recovery effort? I won’t speculate as to what, but all of the stupidity coming out of KL is just striking.

They all died instantly because the temp is 40 or 50 below zero at 35g altitude.I would say few, if any ,knew what hit them.

Port Dixon is south of Kuala Lumpur on the Malacca Strait. No where near where the airplane was supposed to be.

40-50 below won’t kill you instantly. They probably wouldn’t even pass out from the low oxygen since they would be low enough within time.
The shock from the explosion (my guess) would probably stun most of them.

They must have thought Indonesia was the southern coast of Vietnam.
