NEW YORK (AP) In his most extensive comments about the 2012 Connecticut school massacre, the father of gunman Adam Lanza describes his struggle to comprehend what his son did an act that "couldn't get any more evil" and how he now wishes that his son had never been born.
Peter Lanza also told The New Yorker magazine in a series of interviews last fall that he believes Adam would have killed him, too, if he had the chance. And he often contemplates what he could have done differently in his relationship with Adam, although he believes the killings couldn't have been predicted.
"Any variation on what I did and how my relationship was had to be good, because no outcome could be worse," Peter Lanza told the magazine in an article dated March 17. "You can't get any more evil. ... How much do I beat up on myself about the fact that he's my son? A lot."

Exactly. I guess he wants to wipe out half of the teenagers going thru puberty right now in the world.
Keep in mind, from Harris and Klebold at Columbine, to many of the other mass shooters, some sort of medication was involved. Whether that is the cause or just an indicator of problems severe enough that they were medicated is open to interpretation.
“Do you really think you can divine persons mental state from one picture.”
Indeed. A lot of clues are present that trained professionals can discern.
Tell me, why would you ignore crazy psycho look? Get checked out.
If a dog starts foaming, would you not consult the vet for rabies?
“Attorney General: Identifying antidepressants Lanza was taking could cause a lot of people to stop taking their medications”
All Big Pharma patent ‘antidepressants’ are depressing and create sometimes evil repercussions in the patient. These are mind-altering drugs that should never be allowed. For example, the children’s drug Ritalin has a more potent effect on the brain than cocaine. A lot of people could be saved from the clutches of psychiatrists and the evils of patent ‘antidepressants’ if they would stop taking their medications.
“Perhaps, but it takes two to tango”
But only one to say hasta la vista
My opinion (at least I hope it was conveyed as such) was prefaced by “perhaps.”
Regardless, Adam grew up in a broken home. That much is apparent.
I honestly don't know; the background of the family didn't seem to be of concern to the media - at least I didn't hear about it other than the parents were separated/divorced.
I never so much as implied that, and you know it.
But an already unstable child can be pushed over the edge by a broken home, and this home was undeniably broken.
Our mental health system is for sure a disaster, for the life of me I cannot figure out why people who need it cannot get it- even if they have money as you said. Mentally ill people cause so many problems for their loved ones and others; though most are surely not murderers, the issues are tragic for them and society.
I had the same thought, that odd collar on the shirt made me wonder if it was a costume and perhaps he was trying to look like an alien or something similar.
In EVERYONE of these cases these kids are on some sort of psychiatric
drugs!! We NEED to wake up where these drugs are concerned. The kid is hyperactive and he is placed on drugs, a little shy or withdrawn and they
are placed on drugs! I do not recall ANY kids in my generation being
diagnosed with these sort of problems and placed on these drugs! What
the heck is going on!

That was a pebble btw
The factors can be myriad.
Medication can mask conditions that would in earlier days have resulted in sending someone to an asylum. Treat it well enough not to look obviously ugly, but not enough to stave off the danger.
Anyhow, as tragic and sickening as this is, it’s even more tragic and sickening that they’re now putting the whole bleepin’ state of Connecticut in a rubber room in response. If schools really are seeing more assaults, then guard them better. That used to be common sense.
Considering how the media loves to distort things to the point of false reporting I don’t see that post as a defense of the killer as much as I see it as questioning the media, which is prudent these days. The truth is many murderers look like ordinary people, some are even good looking. Some very odd looking people are not in any way dangerous, so looks won’t tell the story anyway in most cases.
Funny you should mention Trayvon...didn’t the media persist in trying to show him only in pictures where he looked like an innocent young boy? So I wonder why people might suspect the media might have an angle with this photo?
AGREED!
We don’t have a gun problem, we have a mental health problem. Until we, as a society, face that we will see more of these problems.
I appreciate your sentiment but I beg to disagree. There is already a far worse evil abroad in the land than your son's killings at Sandy Hook Elementary. That evil is the political posturing and the self-serving gun grabbing going on by Democrats in the name of preventing another Sandy Hook. It is unvarnished tyranny. There is no other word for it.
Their proposals would not have prevented Sandy Hook had they been in place before hand but they will trample the Constitutional rights of law abiding citizens to no good purpose other than the political grandstanding of the Democrat politicians.
That is true evil. Sic Semper Tyrannis!
