Is it possible that the plane could still be intact—perhaps hijacked and flown to a terrorist base in northern Pakistan?

Seems unlikely given that it fell off of the radar. I presume that means radar, and not just the turning off of a position transponder, of course.

That's EXACTLY what my wife said after 24 hours. Also note that a report said the plane made a sharp left prior to its sudden disappearance.
