The MSM buried Palin as deep as they could. They hated her, and the vitriol was relentless. In hindsight, some of her statements regards Russia didn’t seem so far off base, huh? :)

I found it unbelievable how a woman that paved her own way to success (no silver spoon), graduated with honors, became a mayor, one of the most successful governors, was made out as this idiot bimbo that’s just a pretty face. I was stationed at Fort Wainwright when she was a mayor in Alaska.

Maybe it is because she wasn’t sucking on the teat of some government program, had no abortion, didn’t throw the victim card around, married her high school sweetheart, her husband is mucho macho, a son is in the Army, she stayed married and constantly talked about Christian values that made the MSM and liberals go after her so aggressively. After all, the Clinton’s were loved because they portrayed the modern American secular institutional family, and Palin is everything that Hollywood and the MSM says is outdated, sexist, and wrong about this country. The people doing the attacking were the self professed champions of women’s rights, and they attacked her exactly in the cliche way that they claim a sexist thinks, just because she’s feminine and pretty they made her out as a bimbo (She was asking for it).

I’m with you. I could have cared less about McCain, I was excited about Palin who I see as the real deal.

“I was referring to Romney”

I was referring to your uncalled for comment in reference to Cruz. Are you trying to say that Cruz has children that are an embarrassment?

Cruz has repeatedly stood up for conservative causes and been ridiculed by the GOP establishment for it. I stand with Cruz. I have said far worse about Dole and McCain.

Just the other day, the GOP called me for a donation and I told them NO WAY. I stand with Cruz and Gowdy, and the GOP attacks them. I can donate directly to candidates who stand for what I do. They wasted the last dime of mine they will ever see.

I first heard her speak during the campaign on the radio as I was driving to the dentist, in agony, with an abscess in my jaw. I was yowling in pain and cheering at the same time.

True, but McCain attacked Cruz and others first with the "wacko birds" remark, so he doesn't have much right to complain here.

Cruz loses out, though, in comparison to Rand Paul who makes the same point without what could be perceived as a personal attack.

WTP?

McCain = POW
Dole = combat veteran
Romney = 5 sons, all mature

Cruz, 2 daughters too young to be any kind of embarrassment.

I'm still trying to understand your point of contention.

???

Of course they are young, so why do you make it an issue? What does all this has to do with qualifications for President? The country is in desperate need of leadership and both McCain with his war record and Romney with his 5 kids had their chance and they flopped!

Most great individuals have flopped, perhaps several times, and then become successes.

Obama became a great success (for many), and now has completely flopped.

Rafael Edward Cruz has shown great promise, but is still in the indeterminate stage. It is conceivable that he might do a far greater service by thoroughly securing his senate seat and exerting influence there, than bywasting his resources in a presidential campaign.

As far as raising a loyal family without shame, apparently Romney has done that, though I do not like his religion or politics.

You do not yet know what forms of compromises Cruz would make to remain as Senator or to become President. But there will be many in a political arena that has become crassly corrupted. But in one he already seems to have--that of inherently not being a natural-born citizen, AFIK?

(Just my opinion. You don't have to loke it. It's still somewhat of a free country.)

Senator Cruz was obviously referring to political principle, rather than personal or moral principle. McCain attempted to obfuscate that distinction to paint himself and Dole as injured parties. Senator Cruz’s observation was accurate, overdue and appropriate.

So why bring up war records and children that have nothing to do with his promise or qualifications for being a President of the USA. As far as I am concerned he is the most articulate of all potential Presidential candidates, Republicans and Democrats. Whether he gets the nomination or not remains to be seen. He will have to earn his way. One thing certain is he is scaring some people because he is already being subjected to smear tactics.

So why bring up war records and children that have nothing to do with his promise or qualifications for being a President of the USA.

Because an individual is the sum of his/her parts, and one's overall life record is indicative of his/her performance on related issues that would face him/her actions as a legislator or magistrate.

Cruz's debate point was to suggest that these men failed the test of being principled in actions. Service records and family leadership are indicators of one's principles, and these men had already been selected to be candidates, on which those issues were a part of choosing them for office.

Those men have baked their own cookies. Cruz'z are still in the oven.

As far as I am concerned he is the most articulate of all potential Presidential candidates, Republicans and Democrats.

All con men and blowhards are also extremely articulate. The success of a champion debater is to unexpectedly be assigned either side of an issue, and be effectively convincing of it. I don't think you can say that BHO has not been articulate.

To me, it's how one carries out his boasts in action that count. By my judgment, Cruz is cannot be eligible on the same count I considere Obama to be ineligible--the question of being a natural-born citizen. For me, by the accident of birth to a father who is/was a Cuban and fought for Castro, though turned on him, but born in Canada to Cuban parents is an unchangeable disqualifying factor. Perhaps The God, under Whom our Constitution is to be followed, is the determining factor that would make Cruz most effective as a legislator rather than as our Chief Magistrate.

You can't articulate out of that, nor escape that by manipulation of public opinion, and not be called a liar.

So be it. I'm done on this.

Man you are taking your pot shots! A lot of Cuban’s were taken in by Castro lies. You didn’t know that Cruz’s father was strongly anti communist and against Castro. Although he left Cuba approximately two years before Castro took over Cuba the exodus of Cubans began after Castro took over. The early Cubans that fled Cuba were businessmen and farm owners whose property was being confiscated by Castro. They came to the US because they wanted to be free from a Socialist dictator and they were immediately welcomed to the US by the Eisenhower administration. Who would know more about a takeover of the US by socialist and their lies than Cruz?
Cruz’s mother is an American Citizen and for that reason he is qualified to be President. Democrats no doubt in the face of Obama’s citizenship shenanigans will make Cruz’s citizenship a major issue, however. And Obama’s articulation more like a incoherent used car salesman chock full of bald face lies.

Cruz’s mother is an American Citizen and for that reason he is qualified to be President.

That's not exactly the way I hard it.

Part of being a natural-born citizen means not only being born to parents who were both either born citizens, or citizens "naturalized" before the child's birth. Cruz is a step behind Obama (if Obama was born in Hawaii), for Cruz's father was a Cuban citizen until 2005, and Ted was born in Calgary, Canada long before his father became a citizen. However, though his mother was a born American, as was Obama's mother; Ted was not a natural-born citizen because he was born on foreign soil.

I do not believe, and it is pretty well proven, that if BHO was born somewhere like Kenya as he had claimed, he mot certainly would not be a natural citizen, and would not have been eligible for the Presidency. In that case, neither of those two would have been natural born, because both of them had foreign fathers also.

In contrast, since John McCain was born in Panama to legitimate American citizens, but on an American Naval Base, within which boundaries is counted as American soil, which then makes him natural-born, and thus eligible for the presidency. If he had been born in a Panamanian hospita, he would notr.

If Cruz winds up on the rolls as a Presidential candidate, it will be flouting the Constitution, with other authorities turning a blind eye, as was done for Obama in 2008.

To run for the Presidency Cruz would have to deliberately compromise the Constitution just as seriously as anybody else has, and thus be without the high ground from which to criticize others like Dole, McCain, and Romney.

So you started out by saying that Cruz was not qualified because he had no war record and his children were not old enough to prove that they were not an embarrassment and now you are saying that it wouldn’t make any difference anyway because he couldn’t be President in the first place. As far as Cruz citizen qualifications go if it is a matter of law I don’t think it is the slam dunk you think it is and I guess we may have to wait to see.
