business owners across the country who are voluntarily paying their workers more than the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour

Voluntarily? The implication is that they're paying them more than they're worth, out of the goodness of their hearts. That's sheer insanity.

And deeper, that "good" business owners do this, while "bad" business owners only care about profit.

I expect a Maximum Annual Profit Act to come out of the Senate any time now.
