Craig has ended the idiotic “virtual precincts” which were nothing but 9 to 5 precincts that were overstaffed during low crime hours and closed during the high crime hours.
He’s also threatened to criminally charge dispatchers who lie to callers. This comes after a couple of cases where people were murdered while waiting for police who were never even dispatched.
He’s working on getting the police chopper into the air as well. Its paid for but has never been used. The city was supposed to pay for maintenance and fuel and the state police were to do the flying. The chopper went immediately into storage and the operating money disappeared.
He also cut the mayor’s security detail from 20 officers to 6.
