Yeah...Been all kinds of incidents regarding suicide in the past...
One in CA comes to mind many years ago...PSA Airlines in-bound to SF out of LAX I believe, with a disgruntled airline employee on board with a pistol....
With his ID he made his way to the flight deck, shot the pilot and co-pilot in the head....sealed everyone’s fate...
If I recall it impacted some farm field in central CA at about 600 mph....Left a big crater and only tiny pieces...
For the record, that was a guest on Fox’s Megyn Kelly show who brought that up and he was on the phone, just saying, the Fox personnel weren’t actually saying that.
I was In California at that time and they named it “People Scattered All over.” The incident ended the airline.
omgosh--yes... i remember that... he had been let go... he used his employee badge and got through easily... didn't he write a note on the plane? on a napkin or something? sick...
according to this a PSA plane had a mid-air collision with a Cessna: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSA_Flight_182
I remember that crash clearly because a friend of mine, Ray Thompson, was the PSA executive shot first by the disgruntled employee. The pilots were then murdered.
Ray was a great guy.
Prayers up for the passengers and families of today’s incident. Seems likely terrorism is involved and that it is related to the recent knife attacks in China.
Close. very close...but not exactly farm field, more like hilly cattle country. I used to drive a road that is nearby to the crash site fairly regularly, and there are not crops there. Just cattle.
There used to be a 'white' deer that hung around that area too, and just adjacent to the crash site, I had to avoid a legal buck (forked horn) on that road, a little after dark, after being empty handed on the last day of deer season. Coulda' had him with my '52 3/4 ton Chevy, but chose to stop laugh at myself and the foolish deer instead --and glad I did, for I wasn't aware of the crash site being right there until just now looking it up.
It makes me wonder about the white deer (the one I avoided that one night was normal). But if memory serves, there were TWO noticeably white deer --- but I would always see them (or just one of them) on the hillside East of the road, right along in that area, and nowhere else. I saw them often enough to always look for them to be there...
