A Pentagon research team is studying the body movements of Russian President Vladimir Putin and other world leaders in order to better predict their actions and guide U.S. policy, Pentagon documents and interviews show.in order to better predict their actions and guide U.S. policy
guide U.S. policy
Now I feel sick.
... U.S. policy
We have it on video.
OK, I have contacted my friend who is Russian & English teacher near Moscow. This is his reply to this controversy: The point he was making there was that Russian forces, if they even would be employed in Ukraine, would be there only for protection and not fighting, and he said very angrily “Let’s see if Ukrainian army will shoot at their own women and children, I’d like to see what commander would give such an order to shoot at their own people, because Russian forces will be behind them, not in front of them” (MEANING that the Ukrainian army will be fighting their own people and not the Russian army, that Russians don’t mean it as invasion but protection of their own Russian people in Ukraine, so they aren’t going to be fighting as such, only at the request of the locals and as help, not actual foreign occupation force, you see? That’s what “behind them” means here - not as hiding but rather as secondary to the local people who are displeased with the turn of events and are ready to fight the new government). It’s a very difficult and unlucky turn of words which when translated directly do sound bad but it’s perfectly clear that that’s not at all what he was talking about at all!!! Very frustrating...
Problem is, he said will shoot at their own women and children. If he was talking about local people fighting on the Russian side, its not women and children who generally do the fighting. He would have said will shoot at their own brothers and cousins, the MEN who would primarily be doing the resistance.
When he refers to own women and children, its really hard to see it as anything other than a reference to human shields. And since weve only seen Muslims being barbarous enough to make children volunteer for that kind of stuff, it carries the implication that children would involuntarily be used for human shields.
Id like to see what commander would give such an order to shoot at their own peopleNot only is Putin talking about hiding his illegal invading military troops behind women and children... but he is also daring the Ukrainians to shoot them because he would like to see it!
This gets worse the more we understand it...
And really, who talks like this - "women and children and shooting" - in any context?
BTW - I haven't heard of any Russians being harmed so stop with the BS. If Putin continues to invade Ukraine it's because he wants the USSR back. Some of us are more than 3 years old - don't be so insulting.
Your source is highly questionable.
Not only is Putin talking about hiding his illegal invading military troops behind women and children... but he is also daring the Ukrainians to shoot them because he would like to see it!

Hey, brother, I don’t think you got my message (#56?). Putin was NOT talking about hiding his illegal invading military troops behind women and children and he was NOT daring the Ukrainians to shoot them because he would like to see it.
If anything, it’s just the opposite. He said any Ukes firing at Russian military would also be shooting at women and children, for whom (supposedly in Putin’s mind) the Russians are there for. So, if anyone gave that order, he (Putin) said let them try it. He will look for whoever gives that order. The implication being that he’d have them hunted down to pay for what they’d done, i.e. giving an order to shoot women and children.
Once again, here is EXACTLY what Putin said:
Listen to me. Listen to me attentively. I want you to understand me unambiguously. If we take such a decision, only for the defense of Ukrainian citizens, and someone tries, one of these servicemen, they are shooting at their own people, for whom well be standing, not (x1 moving?). Let them try to shoot women and children. I shall look for anyone making such an order in the Ukraine. (End of audio.)
This was only getting worse if you ignored my previous posts or were trying to be provocative, which, FYI, you are coming across as. Or perhaps you’re Mr Levin, the translator at that Biz Review site
As to who uses the phrase “women and children and shooting” in any context, I did in my original post, saying it’s not unusual for any military (like my former self) to get riled up if their mission is non-combatant evacuation or protection and the bad guys start shooting. At that point, they’re not just shooting at us, but at the innocent women and children.
FYI, there was NOTHING said about using people as human shields, nor was it implied.
If this comes off as my defending Putin, it’s not. I’m trying to defend the truth of what was actually said. As a career US military Russian interpreter, that’s what I did for 25 years.
Peace.

Ivans correct on this matter, Berlin Freeper.
I don’t believe that any want war in Ukraine....but I have no doubt Putin is not going to let Ukraine be run by the US or the EU as they are doing now.
I also believe he will not go into areas where he doesn’t have Russian’s supporting him. But he’s not going to bend to Obama, no way.
....”Im not buying this”...
I didn’t either....and besides it’s ‘old news’ ...that’s been out there for quite awhile and debunked.
In this Ukraine issue news is old pretty fast....and that’s because so many are checking to see if it is in the first place...much isn’t factual. Then you have the many pushing all the false news. I’ve laughed my fanny off at some of the photos people are photo shopping now....yet the ignorant believe them!
...they are shooting at their own people, for whom well be standing, not (x1 moving?). Let them try to shoot women and children.Your biased interpretation is not making any kind of good sense there Buddy. You might have some relevance here if Putin's actions (like removing insignias, the BS about Russians in danger and the actual broken promise not to invade) didn't speak louder than your cocked up words.
Nor are you making sense with this: its not unusual for any military (like my former self) to get riled up if their mission is non-combatant evacuation or protection and the bad guys start shooting. At that point, theyre not just shooting at us, but at the innocent women and children.
There wasn't a single report in Crimea of any women or children in danger.
Don't know what your emotional problem accusing me of trying to be provocative is about, or speaking down to me that I must not have read the post I replied to. If you reply to me again a couple of months from now, pinging a support crowd to hold your hand, try to make minimal sense that connects with widely known events.
Oh yea and drop the arrogance that you are the authority here that can't be given a valid opposing view without making it personal.
Thanks Ivan.
Dude, you just keep stepping in it deeper.
So, who’s not being provocative by accusing me of offering a biased translation? Never any bias in my translations, friend. I think my bona fides show what relevance I have here. What’s your relevance other than being rude to everyone who tried to set the record straight?
My cocked up words? You mean my translation or what Mr. Putin said? His words, my translation.
You’re the one who brought up women and children again, even after I had made it clear that Putin was speaking of Ukrainians possibly shooting at them, not him using them as shields. Does Putin actually give a damn about any innocents in Crimea or Ukraine? Probably not, but let’s stick to what he actually said, shall we.
When you purposefully ignored my correct translation and continued to use that of Mr. Levin or RT, that was very insulting and personal. So, you deserved anything you got at that point. Don’t dish it out if you can’t take it. Hope that makes enough sense for you. It did for those I was courteous enough to include in any previous post except for you, apparently.
When you come up with your own translation or have the courtesy to acknowledge mine, which didn’t support your or Mr. Levin’s agenda, and not continue to rely on that of Mr. Levin or RT, which I showed to be incorrect, then you can get back to me about an opposing view. Until then, suck wind, guy. Or should I say, “Mr. Levin”?
FYI, maybe you should give Berlin a break. It seems to have rubbed off on you in a bad way.
Anytime, BF.
Why are you flaming?
Poor baby, you post to me from 2 months ago, responding to a reply that was not even to you... being arrogant and demeaning on top of it - simply because I didn’t accept your garbage translation that makes Putin sound like a mindless idiot.
Seriously, translations are supposed to make sense in the language they are translated to... just so you know.
While I am at it, allow me to school you on the fact that for a translation to be taken seriously, there has to be confidence that the translator is at least competent.
But what have you shown here? You moan to me about your really bad translation from a couple of months ago (while pinging the Putin Fanboy support group)... and at the same time you are typing your whiny abusive BS at my expense, Putin is violating Ukrainian airspace for his next invasion. That says everything I need to know about you, Buddy, and everything Real Americans need to know about you.
Let’s see... what else?
Oh yea, what is also disturbing about you, is you are defending Putin on his stated willingness to hide invading Russian soldiers behind Ukrainian women and children while wanting to see them get shot, completely ignoring the fact that Putin had his soldiers remove their insignia - which is hiding by default.
Square that one in your psyche before you next look in the mirror.
Keeping this short as you are definitely not worth more than these 10 minutes of my time... I’m just now wondering, do you do bad lipreading too?
