this is BS , I grow avocados in hawaii and they are loaded on the trees , falling off the trees , literally a dime a dozen .
Why so cheap ? Because the california avocado lobby CALAVO has long worked with the USDA and keeps all Hawaiian avos from being able to be shipped to hawaii . You like guac? Move to Hawaii = all you can eat . We feed them to our dogs , which love them and have nice sleek coats
I mean USAD/CALAVO prohibits shipping Hi. avos to the Mainland . So they maintain their little monopoly with their crappy varieties of avos
