Radio host Michael Savage has trumped Matt Drudge's notorious tweet from last year that Vladimir Putin is the "leader of the free world." Savage on Thursday on WMAL in Washington, D.C. claimed the freedom fighters in Ukraine are neo-Nazis and his guest, former conservative Paul Craig Roberts, alleged that American neo-cons are secret Israelis provoking Russia.
I used to like Savage’s show until just a couple of weeks ago. The last straw was bashing Levin. I can’t stand Hannity....but don’t mess with Levin.
If you’ve listened to Stephen Cohen more than a few times you’ll have discovered he’s a dyed in the wool rusophile, whose very subtle justification of Putin becomes evident after four or five exposures.
Just as important in assessing his attachments is the fact that he is the husband of Katrina vanden Heuvel, editor in chief of ‘The Nation’ an unapologetic progressive/socialist monthly rag. Birds of a feather do flock together.
Take his words with a block of salt, he’s very slick.
A good choice. You are right on with your characterization, but Batchelor’s show is so interesting and stays on a true high intellectual level. If anyone in the media wants to know how to do a real objective news show they should listen to Batchelor and take notes.

Now that is some very good information. I have heard him on John Batchelor’s show. Thank you for pointing that out! Cohen is very slick.

NOw that I’ve quit Savage , it is down to Kuhner and Chris Plante on a reg. basis ( via podcast as I am in Japan ) .

Used to listen to John Batchelor regularly until they stopped broadcasting him in my area.
He does wickedly good and very interesting book review/author chats. Actually reads them fully.
He seems to have lost his senses efforting to be Number One. That will never happen.

I used to enjoy listening to John Batchelor on the car radio on Sunday nights, but he is no longer in my area. Sunday evening talk shows are so bad that I now listen to music.
His “bumper music” is superior to just about everyone else’s.
