In case you missed it last night, Matthew McConaughey won the Oscar for best actor as a result of his work in "Dallas Buyer's Club." To kick off his acceptance speech, McConaughey thanked God for the blessings in his life and then he thanked his family.
"First off I want to thank God, because he's the one I look up to, he's graced my life with opportunities that I know are not of my hand or any other human kind. He has shown me that it's a scientific fact that gratitude reciprocates. In the words of the late (British actor) Charlie Laughton, who said, 'When you got God you got a friend and that friend is you.'"

Meanwhile, Cate Blanchett, who won for best actress, thanked pervert Woody Allen for her Oscar win.
Jared Leto - “To all the dreamers out there around the world watching this tonight in places like the Ukraine and Venezuela, I want to say we are here and as you struggle to to make your dreams happen, to live the impossible Were thinking of you tonight.”
He’s incredible in True Detective. I need to resume watching it.
Jared Leto is probably not going to be invited to the after after orgies
LOL — Never considered that possibility!
Someone is going to take a screenshot and superimpose God over his butt...
Did the leftist hordes of Hell in the audience screech and howl before they burst into flames?
As I recall, Matthew McConaughey attempted suicide and was helped by Evel Knievel who introduced McConaughey to God.
McConaughey spoke at Knievel’s funeral.
Seems like a nice young man. Hope he realizes he’s just short-circuited his career in Hollywood.
We Are Marshall!
He should also win the Emmy for his portrayal of Cole in True Detective. I have new respect for him and for Jared Leto. I always thought that McConaughey was just a himbo prior to his work on this HBO show.
'When you got God you got a friend and that friend is you'
Didn't he just thank HIMSELF?
He just equated himself to be God.
Thanks! I may buy that.
I think he was saying that when you have God, you don’t need a best friend. You can be your own best friend.
McConaughey was also great in Mud. I don’t think he’s made a movie I don’t like in some way. He appreciates story when taking on roles.
Best show on TV, by far.
Agreed. I had thought that he had talent, but not much of a work ethic or character. I don’t feel that way now. He’s clearly serious about his work, and seems to have found his path in life.
No, he did not. Listen to it again
Unlike the rest of the “elite”, Matthew is a class act
Agree completely. The guy is one of the best natural actors I’ve seen in a long time.
He’s on the short series ‘True Detective’ on HBO, and that one is addicting as well.
His character is the polar opposite of the man who gave the acceptance speech last night as well. His character in that series, in fact, can’t be summed up in a few sentences.
If I had to, his character has no faith in humanity at all, considering humanity in general to be a mistake to the point that everyone should commit suicide at the same time to correct the error. At the same time he is obsessed with the pursuit and prosecution of people who commit heinous, ritualistic murders.
He’s cast against Woody Harrelson. Harrelson does the best he can, but he’s outclassed.
Silver-gowned, banged-up Mrs O in the WH, surrounded
by uniformed guards, at the 2012 Oscars telecast.
Mogul Harvey Weinstein thought this was a good idea--he facilitated the bigtime bomb.
==================================================
BACKFIRE Mrs O was roundly criticized for her scary appearance at 2012's Oscar telecast---the buzz is that stars and moguls in the seats heaved a collective groan when she was beamed in on a large drop-down screen over presenter Jack Nicholson's head.
Even more pointedly, post-Oscar stories left her out of "who wore what" red carpet reports---she used the same designer as one starlet, but print and media reports omitted any mention of Moosh, or her glitzy dress (she was entertaining in the WH at the time and chose to appear surrounded by uniformed military guards).
LOYAL DEMOCRATS LIKE DONNY DEUTSCH WEIGHED IN: "As far as I'm concerned, she was an uninvited guest. Now what I mean by that is (as an advert guru), you have to give the consumer, the viewer, the ultimate respect. They tuned in to watch movie stars, to watch movies. And all of a sudden, politics is thrown at them."
"If I want to watch her on Jimmy Fallon, that's okay. But, (the Awards)---that was an intrusion, and I have a feeling that three out of four Americans -- Democrat or Republican -- don't want to see the First Lady (there). I think you have to respect your audience enough to not impose her, that's not a moment we're looking for there---the President or the First Lady," Deutsch said on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight."
DONNY CONTINUED: "....the tone of it, it was almost a monarch quality.....an elitist flavor to it. I was watching and going, 'huh?' and I'm a Democrat," Deutsch told host Piers Morgan. "I just thought it was very very tone deaf and I was really surprised they did it," Deutsch concluded.

If this keeps up, pretty soon the self-serving O's will be depicted as the new Juan and Evita (/snix)...... or maybe Nikolai and Elena.
