(CNN) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has asked the upper house of parliament for approval to send Russian troops into Ukraine's Crimea region to normalize the political situation there, the Kremlin said Saturday.
Due to the "extraordinary situation in Ukraine," Putin said, there are threats to the lives of Russian citizens and Russian military personnel based in the southern Crimean region.
It comes on the same day that the new pro-Russian leader of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, asked Putin for help in maintaining peace in the Black Sea peninsula -- where Russia has a major naval base at Sevastopol.

I know exactly the situation concerning who Putin is.....however the press and Russian people have long time now accepted the “hero” that he’s projected as.
The fact is Obama continues to show our nation weak....after all what President wold have ‘ever’ announced to A Russian leader they would have more flexibility after the election without appearing very weak to that leader?
Putin IS a hero to Russians....but we know exactly who he is and what he’s up to. ..and he’s certainly unconcerned that we are....he has his agenda and He will not be stopped by words.
Frankly Putin will only go so far...probably annex Chimea and that’s about it...it won’t be a full military war there...too much on all sides to loose..including Europe and Russia.

That too...haha!
Putin isn’t stupid...getting Crimea is low-hanging fruit...He knows the rest of the world won’t lift a finger to stop that.
Now he has a better bargaining chip..he knows Ukraine will be independent, but he just wants to get what he can before it happens.
Thanks.
