Several Republican senators said Wednesday they were surprised and angered after a news report revealed that their GOP colleague, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, made a recent fundraising appeal for a tea party group that is trying to defeat GOP incumbents it doesn't believe are conservative enough.

“Wasn’t it just yesterday that Cruz was claiming he wasn’t going to get involved in primaries? This seems to indicate otherwise.”

Frankly I think that was a shrewd game on his part. I think he wanted to avoid being pressured to endorse Cornyn so he says “hey, I’m staying out of all primaries.” Cornyn would have loved his endorsement, but without it, he’s likely to be forced into a runoff next Tuesday.

Cruz knows the republicans in the senate need new leadership, and he’s shrewdly working to make that happen. Hell, McConnell and Cornyn work behind the scenes to undermine conservatives, so Cruz is working behind the scenes to undermine the moderates and the moderate leadership.

I can see why Susan Collins would be upset. Doesn’t she vote with the rats about 40% of the time?

They’re dandy with funding efforts to defeat TP challengers, and they’re dandy with taking political revenge on anybody who would support TP challengers, yet they’re angry there are Senators who support TP challengers?

I find their anger delicious. May their anger turn to tears, because I find those delicious too.

Is Ted a Bomb Thrower Conservative?
I do know years ago a MAN called Ronald Reagan was accused of being something like that. All of his enemies knew he was a man of his word.
The USA did well by him.
I would like a leader that the BAD parts of the world were afraid of what he might do!
I also know that this Ted has never even been accused of drowning an Intern!

Where’s Cornyn’s whine??? He’s upset that Cruz won’t endorse him for re-election. Doesn’t he remember Cruz saying he wouldn’t endorse anyone for that race? I’m sure it was because there was NO WAY he would endorse Cornyn and he didn’t want to hurt his feelings.

I can’t wait for Tuesday night to see who is in the run-off!

This to me is very telling about the establishment. NONE of these Senators endorsed Cruz. The NRSC supported the Lt. Gov.

Yet Cruz now that he is in the Chamber is expected to turn his back on the groups that got him elected. He now is suppose to join his fellow Senators in the country club and say and do as told. This isn't how it works.

From the article....

Those incumbents include Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, Sen. Pat Roberts of Kansas, and Sen. Thad Cochran of Mississippi.

*****

That’s a good start. I can think of several more, but it looks like different conservative groups are going after some of the the other RINO’s.

Midge appears to be taking it from several groups....couldn’t happen to a better RINO.

"I just would rather see us focus on Democrats," said another frustrated Republican senator who asked not to be identified. "I think when Republicans spend a lot of time and resources and effort defeating other Republicans it makes it that much harder to get to 51 in the Senate and that ought to be our goal."

It's always Party first, with these GOP-E hacks.

You left that off.
