Okay, thanks for the reply. I see this in a completely different way. I see this fighting government expansion. Assuming that the business owner’s costs increase, he has a few options. One, fold that cost into the price of menu items, and help hide the cost, or break it out and let people see what they’re voting for.
Or if he is some kind of benevolent weirdo he can absorb the cost and reduce his own revenue. If he were to do that, it would mean to admit he had been over charging all along. I suppose he could also make portion sizes smaller, which is how a lot of companies maintain a price point in the face of rising costs.
If not for Obamacare, this whole thing would not even be an issue. And things could get much worse; through executive orders, agency “rule making”, and other forms of unilateral decisions who knows what’s coming down the pike? Its a confusing mess.
I appreciate other posters’ point of view. To be sure, running a business is hard enough without the government adding to the burden.
