You will patronize a restaurant that tacks on this charge because obamacare is extracting the money from all of them. They must pass that cost on to their customers. Period.
They may raise prices across the board, or they may list it as a surcharge as these people are doing.

I’ve packed my own lunch everyday for decades and we eat dinner at home most of the time. So I do have a choice.
We do not frequent restaurants. Most of the time we eat very well and cheaply at home, and always like the house wine list. ;)
Beats putting up with lazy/inattentive servers, overpriced food, and meals of marginal quality. (Many restaurants get everything in bulk from large food distributors, and I know people who work for the suppliers who have interesting tales to tell.)
There may not be any such thing as a money tree, but eating home cooked meals can certainly save a great deal of money.
