And Italy had some great racing drivers, including our own Mario Andretti, Alberto Ascari, Alex Zanardi to keep it a short list.

Very true. And anyone whose ever been in a taxi in Italy knows that Italians are some of the best drivers around. Crazy? Sure... But damn good drivers.

Italians have a rep in europe, well deserved in my experience. Lanes mean next to nothing to them. Google “worse drivers in europe”.

My brother and his wife flew to Europe, rented a car in Normandy and headed into Paris. He went around the Arc de Triomphe, traffic circle, and it freaked him out.

They turned the rental car in, and took the trains and planes for the rest of their trip.

He posed the question to me: “how could you drive there?”

Simple, I told him. Just adopt the European driving style. Cars come closer together.

I brought my car back to the states without a scratch on it.
