Even if the Democrat got all 12% of the Undecided Voters, she would still be trailing Capito.

Just remember, Capito voted to allow the NSA to continue to spy on Americans... Just sayin.

“They question is: when will Republican voters learn the same thing, and recognize that voting for the lesser of two evils isn’t just fool’s gold, but is actually more akin to allowing known traitors to continue to wear your uniform just because it makes your army look bigger.”
No, the real question is when will you and those that embrace your mindset, learn that your plan will have you walking around with your thumb up your ass while Harry Reid packs the USSC with liberal Commie clones of Elizabeth Warren!
49 carbon copies of Ted Cruz can’t stop Harry Reid controlling everything in the Senate and packing the courts, it takes 51 to do that.
First take control, THEN start sorting out the RINOs in the primary!

I wonder how man FReepers who were, at one time, in love with Rand Paul, are still in love with him since he became a political whore by endorsing Mitch McConnell and actively campaigning for him?

We will take the Senate back, but we won’t get the super majority we need to truly get rid of this criminal..

bump
Now the media promotes Ran Paul as the “conservative” alternative

Tennant would have to get virtually all of the undecided. It’s a long way to November, but it’s EXTREMELY unlikely that that would happen.
Not that Capito is anything to write home about. Her biggest asset is the R after her name.

Yes, because that has worked out SO well in the past. Your plan ensures that liberals never have to worry about any kind of effective opposition. Nice for them, not so nice for those that understand how destructive liberalism is.
49 carbon copies of Ted Cruz cant stop Harry Reid controlling everything in the Senate and packing the courts, it takes 51 to do that.
We are on a trajectory that is bringing this country to the left on a daily basis. The Reagan "Revolution", the win in '94, the win in 2010: during none of these periods did the government shrink, at no point did freedom expand, at no point was liberalism actually weakened. We continued leftward unabated, despite the numbers that you so desperately crave. The packing of courts will occur; whether it occurs now or 5 years from now makes little difference in the overall war. But in order to delay (very marginally, I might add) this leftward expansion, you are willing to sacrifice any chance of doing what the left did, once they realized that their "numbers" meant little if they came at the expense of unified messaging, political agility, and courage.
Obviously, you don't see (or understand) the bigger picture. Keep doing what you are doing, but don't be surprised when the country continues to lurch leftward, regardless of short-term changes in political fortune, and don't be surprised that the conservative message continues to fade into the background noise.

Your plan is what keeps Harry Reid in control of the Senate.

Explain how you get anything you want with RATS controlling the Senate?
Cry and whine all you want, but without 51 in the Senate you got nothing, no matter the makeup of your caucus.

Good news for the Republicans in playing the numbers game to take control of the Senate. Not so good for actual conservatism. Correct. Capito is a very squishy "moderate".
To: GeronL
was there a pro-life conservative independent? Former state delegate Pat McGeehan was running in the Republican primary, but has dropped out. He says he will run for a state assembly seat he previously held. He is an excellent constitutionalist conservative: pro-life, pro-gun, limited government, etc.

Same thing I’m going to do. Remind her of it at every turn. Hound her and make her realize we are not happy. Maybe, she’ll wake up... maybe not.
Ticking off your base the way she has is not a winning strategy.

Cry and whine all you want ...
I see I am dealing with someone incapable of rational debate. However, in terms of your original question: "Explain how you get anything you want with RATS controlling the Senate?" This is fairly simple. This is a long battle, and one which we have been losing, in part because of the willingness of conservatives to sacrifice political courage at the alter of the magical R/D ratio, and in part because the Democrats finally wised up and realized what was actually important.
- Rid the party leadership of those hostile to conservatism. Their presence makes it impossible to have a single, cohesive message that resonates with voters.
- Focus on the core principles of conservatism, and make sure that this message is hammered at all levels of politics, from the top leaders in the Senate, all the way to dogcatcher.
- Develop a cohesive and aggressive defense of conservatism wherever it is attacked. We may make fun of the Democrats' use of talking points, but once they abandoned your type of strategy, they were able to be extremely effective in responding to any situation that arose.
- Like the Democrats do, allow regional Republicans to deviate, but within a fairly strict scope, and never on crucial issues.
- Use the party apparatus to fully vet candidates, on their commitment to the principles of the party, their ability to think on their feet, and their ability to articulate the party platform.
- Use the party apparatus to coordinate with grass-roots groups, in order to saturate this cohesive messaging on the internet (once again, stealing from the post-poor strategy Democrat playbook).
- Once the messaging, rapid response, coordination, and vetting are all in place, then expand into "enemy territory" -- Blue states (which voted for Reagan, due to the precision and consistency of his message), ethnic areas, and even universities.
This list is obviously not complete. Most of it is common sense, once it is acknowledged that we are being thoroughly outplayed in the arena of messaging and appealing to voters. But the critical thing is this, which is where your strategy errs:
None of this is possible as long as Republicans like McCain, McConnell, Cornyn, Graham, Cochran, and Boehner have any kind of leadership position, at all. None of it. Their hostility to Reagan-style conservatism, combined with their leverage within the party, renders even the best laid plans completely moot.
To: GeronL
sounds like its too bad he dropped out It is ... I sent money to his campaign, and supported some other ways as well. If he really does run for the delegate seat, I will support again even though I'm not in his district.
Not sure if I will vote for Capito for Senate ... certainly not in the primary. Voting for the democrat is, of course, unthinkable.
