They were against the original legislation, but I just checked the NRA-ILA.org website and it is oddly silent on the current crisis in CT. Even the news section that links to other websites. I found two articles. One from before the illegal “law” was passed, the other was the NYT article that came out a few days ago.
As an NRA Life member, I’m not amused.
Well, I guess we know who to shoot now, don’t we?
The State Politzei should take looong vacations.
Lock and Load, boys and girls.
As a former NRA member, I was not amused that they so vehemently backed Hemorrhoid Reid in 2010, calling him a stalwart supporter of the 2nd Amendment (or similar verbiage). Look at where that's gotten us -- Obamacare, no filibuster in the Senate, and so on. I'm also not amused that the NRA is steadfastly backing that limp noodle, spineless jellyfish Bitch McConnell in Kentucky.
Protecting our RKBA goes beyond just opposing gun control efforts, but the NRA doesn't understand that. Fortunately, there are other groups that do.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

That's because the NRA can drive up more scare-membership and scare-donations if there is actual gun confiscation — this is why they never go on the offensive: to do so would mean that they would have to change their tactics/MO/goals (just like why the GOP doesn't oppose the Democrats).
