For quite a few years now the Chi-cons, Putin, and a lot of the Eastern Europe “former” communist parties have been using teams of internet trolls to hijack the forums, dilute and misdirect the discussions, push favorable opinions of their bosses, etc. The best way to handle it is to not engage them at although it is necessary sometimes.
