To: Red in Blue PA

If I had gone into that restaurant to eat I would have deducted the 3% from the tip and told them so. But, like many others who I suspect will feel the same way, I’d stop going there simply because prices are too high.

I love it when businesses print out all the various taxes on receipts. I don’t think they go far enough. They should put in all the hidden cost of fees, fines, compliance (accounting, lawyers, lobbyist, etc).

I like when a few brave gas stations have printed out the federal, state and local taxes on a gallon of gas. You don’t see them doing it much, so I wonder if it is illegal or their fear retribution?

He isn’t adding 3% to the tab, he’s just breaking it out so customers can see it.

I read the article, and stand corrected. There are adding the 3% to the bill.
