(Reuters) - An Ohio man who rose to fame as "Joe the Plumber" by challenging then-presidential candidate Barack Obama on tax policy in 2008 has taken a unionized job with one of the U.S. Big Three automakers, he said on his website.
Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, a conservative, announced on Sunday that he recently had the "fortune of being hired by a great company", Chrysler Corporation, where all workers must be United Automobile Workers union members.

Joe a Reagan Democrat?
Well at least he isn’t Amnesty Liberal
I joined a union after I got a note with my paycheck. The note said “Join union or quit.”
There are a lot more conservative union members than there are Hispanics....and they will vote GOP if there is a committed fight against Illegal Alien Amnesty and Free Trade.
Pandering to Hispanics with Amnesty and Open Borders will not work
I got hired into a shop with an indy union because they knew I didn’t like the UAW and they needed my vote to stay independent.
I crossed a UAW picket line every day for nearly 6 weeks during my probationary period and voted for the indy union the day I was hired.
Money talks...Bull Sheite walks!
To be fair, almost every single union person I know at the place I work, hates Obama and many have NRA bumper stickers. Of course I am in Alaska....
I am okay with unions provided they get their arses nailed to the wall the first time they even think about trying intimidation tactics to drive up membership or use those tactics on non-union members..
A union should be like a Religion, you can leave and join at any time, however today most unions are ran like Cults, like Scientology or Islam...
Same tactics, different game...
RTW solves that.
Does your state have it?
I am union member and am not a democrat. I am a classic liberal. I hate that socialists have taken the word liberal away from whose it rightfully belongs to.
Union for now...when the contracts expire, Michigan now being a right-to-work state, he won’t be a union member anymore.
I think the way Conservatives can winthe UNION vote is by having a party position that lays down some clear common sense “Rules for How Unions should behave”...
Here let me start:
1. All union voting concerning union members should be done via a closed ballot with one vote per member and the reading of those votes open and supervised by any union member who wants to watch the votes get tallied.
2. A union cannot harass a non-union member or it’s own member over issues concerning union policy.
3. Union dues and where and how they are spent should be open to all members of the union to read at any time.
4. Strikers should not engage in ANY physical or verbal violence towards any members who refuse to strike with the union members nor should any retributio9n be levied towards anyone who crosses the Pickett line.
5. We recognize the right of the workers to organize themselves into their self formed advocacy groups ie Unions, however we also recognize the rights of the employer to object to such groups as well.
Basically a “Common sense” list of things and behaviors we as conservatives expect from Unions. A list that will connect to the ideals and values of the “Reagan democrats” and that are “common sense”.
"Dematerialize, madam!"
Adding another one:
6. Acts of deliberate vandalism towards employers or fellow employes shall not be tolerated.
If so, they won’t be union for long. They are owned by Fiat.
Is this the same man who career Democrat “policemen” were digging in state files to spill to cohorts in the DNC media within days of “his” embarrassing candidate Obama?
