On Sean Hannity’s Fox News show on February 19, guest Anne Coulter and Hannity got into a heated discussion about the nature of the Tea Party on its fifth anniversary. While both are Tea Party supporters, Coulter differentiated between “people in America who call themselves Tea Partiers [who] are fantastic” and the “con men and scamsters” who “trick good Americans into sending them money, claiming we are fighting for you and they aren’t fighting for you.”
“Basically anyone who claims to be going after establishment Republicans, the key word there is ‘Republican,’” Coulter said. “If we don’t elect Republicans, I don’t care which Republican, we will not repeal Obamacare.” She continued, “The only way to repeal Obamacare is to elect Republicans. It is not to be fighting against Republicans.”
Coulter said that everyone has “got to read” Thomas Sowell’s column, “Cruz Control,” published on Feb. 18, in which the prominent conservative economist and author criticizes Ted Cruz for weakening the Republican Party in order to remake it as a more pure conservative party in the long term. Sowell argues that such a strategy may bring America past the point of no return with respect to both Obamacare and the larger erosion of personal freedoms. She also pointed out that groups that attack Republicans would face less media scrutiny than groups that attack Democrats.

When Hannity asked why the Republicans could not force the issue on the Keystone pipeline, the debt ceiling, and a host of other issues, and implied that the GOP had given up the fight, Coulter replied, “Fight to give them a majority then we will repeal Obamacare and have the keys to the pipeline.”

Not falling for that BS, Ann. Establishment Republicans have routinely given lip-service to conservative principles to win the support of the real conservative faction that represents a MAJORITY of the party, then proceeded to act like Democrats. If they are going to act like Democrats, we may as well elect Democrats. So your name-calling is misplaced because REAL conservatives have not committed fraud against those who are supposed to be on our side.
Your “hostage” is a Democrat running as a Republican. If we stand pat and you “shoot” the hostage, we get a Democrat running as a Democrat. If we relent and you let the hostage go, we get a Democrat running as a Republican. For us, that is lose, lose, because we get more of the same old garbage, with the added problem that there is no progress in correcting the problem: leftist policies and out-of-control government. Establishment Republicans helped create this problem along with the Democrats, so it is beyond absurd to believe they will be part of the solution. Establishment Republicans need us REAL conservatives a lot more than we need them. With their record and operating principles, they need to be taking orders from us, not the way you want it, Ann.

He called the apointees “the Three Stoges” and morons who didn’t even know where the countries were and what form of government they had. It was priceless and vintage Gowdy.

Nope, electing “republicans” isn’t working and it won’t work. What we need is to clean the RINO’s out of the party and replace them with Conservatives. However, I wouldn’t expect an east coast elitist that likes to trash Tea Partiers to get the nuance.

We can elect more Tea Party members to office but if Democrats control the Senate and Presidency than Democrats will still run the show and turn our nation into a communist State.
If we elect more Tea Party members and if enough Republican moderates are elected to give us a majority in the Senate than the Rhino's “probably” will compromise with the Tea Party rather than radical liberals and we will begin the process of reversing the damage done by the communists.
The best chance to advance a conservative agenda is for every conservative to vote, and to vote for the most conservative choice in both the primary and general election, regardless of one’s opinion of the conservative purity of the choices offered.
