Dozens of residents in northeastern Nigeria have been killed in two separate attacks launched by Boko Haram Islamists, according to officials and residents.
Scored of Islamist insurgents dressed in military uniforms stormed the Christian farming village of Izghe, in Borno state, late Saturday and opened sporadic fire on residents, killing at least 60 people in an attack specifically targeted at male residents.
The gunmen, who arrived in the village riding in trucks and on several motorcycles, opened fire and hacked male residents they had assembled in the village square. They moved door to door in search of male residents who were hiding.

In the second attack early Saturday, suspected Boko Haram gunmen opened fire on Doron Baga, a fishing village along Lake Chad.
"They opened fire from all directions, forcing residents to jump into the lake in a bid to escape, and many drowned while others were gunned down," said Babagana Gwoni, a survivor of the attack.

If the president is unwilling to send in the full military force to crush Boko Haram, then he should declare the north seceded. The northern territories have no oil anyway.
Give the people guns and train them. Then let the next attack commence and see what happens.

The United States condemns in the strongest possible terms the cowardly attacks... in Baghdad. These attacks were aimed at families celebrating the Eid al-Fitr holiday that marks the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The terrorists who committed these acts are enemies of Islam and a shared enemy of the United States, Iraq, and the international community.
The Administration had no comment on Muslim attacks against Christians.

Christians are being murdered nonstop by Muslims in Nigeria, Sudan, Egypt, Libya, Syria, Tanzania, Philippines. Every five minutes, somewhere in the Muslim world, a Christian is being killed just for being a Christian. It is mind-numbing violence and slaughter of Christians in Muslim-majority countries. Sub-Saharan Africa is certainly a major site of jihad on churches, and Nigeria is especially a tragic place. In September 2011 for example, Muslims hacked to death thousands of Christians, including many children and pregnant women. A 79-year-old Christian woman had her throat slit in her home.
Did Obama ever tried to stop or at less condemned those egregious crimes against humanity? Does Obama ignore those crimes because de victims are Christians and the murderers are Islamic fanatics?

YOLA, Nigeria (AP) — Chanting “Allah is great,” suspected Islamic militants gunned down dozens of villagers and slit the throats of others in the latest attack in a northeast Nigerian area where the military has been bombing extremists out of forest hideouts, survivors said Sunday.
Local government chairman Maina Ularamu told The Associated Press he has reports of more than 50 people killed in Saturday night’s attack on Izghe village in Borno state.
Sunday afternoon, funeral rites were held for 52 Muslim victims at the central mosque in the nearby town of Madagali, mosque officials confirmed.
One survivor said the village list of those killed amounted to 63 dead. He spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals.
He said the attackers looted the village food stores, set ablaze mud homes with thatched roofs and made off with about 10 vehicles.
Survivors said they are among hundreds of people from Izghe and neighboring villages who fled on foot through the bush in the night from Borno into Adamawa, two of three northeast Nigerian states under a state of emergency to halt a 4-year-old Islamic uprising. The area is dotted by mainly Christian villages in a predominantly Muslim region, but the Nigerian militants have killed Christians and Muslims indiscriminately, with frequent attacks on mosques and churches.
Insurgents of the Boko Haram terrorist network routinely attack civilians after they are attacked by the military.
