Give me 500 acres in a rocky desert type terrain and 500 marines and absolute authority and I would have these fatherless punks saying “yes sir” and “yes ma’am” and singing the national anthem and reading and writing and doing their arithmetic and quoting History in 2 years.
I would make Joe Arpaio’s desert prison look like a ski resort.
Along the way, no doubt, a few would rebel and get violent and have to be sacrificed for the cause. But, in the end, I would make good citizens out of 98% of them.
There would be no mediations, no parent-teacher meetings, no telephone privileges, no cell phone, no music, no visitors, no psychiatrists, no counselors, no TV, no radio, no Internet, no drugs, no texting and no “hanging out”. Every minute of every day he would be busy.
The first 90 days a participant would bust rocks in the hot sun from dawn till dusk, no exceptions. Slackers would be hot boxed on a survivor diet under a conservative but compassionate doctors supervision, not a lefties.
After 90 days, if a participant survived, he could finally make his first decision since arriving. One, he could go to class, sit up and shut up and pay attention and ABSOLUTELY behave and learn. Or, two, he could continue busting rocks! Every first word out of his mouth and every last word would be “Sir”. No women allowed in the camp EVER for the punks to salivate over.
Any disrespect of the marines would be dealt with severely. So severely that a few of the worst incorrigibles may not survive.
The foregoing recipe would solve Rochesters problem. And, someday, Rochester will just cease to exist like Detroit or whites AND blacks will demand my recipe outlined above or something either close or worse.
It (discipline, routine, treatment with respect, healthy living (good food, no drugs, booze, hanging out all night), getting in good physical shape, A GOOD 1-12 “basics” education, learning what the word “NO” meant) would be the biggest gift we as a society could ever give these pitiful fatherless miscreants we are suffering in our presence.
Finally, the only way they could get out is to have a job and the last six months of the two year program would be devoted to serious job training with the co-operation of industry. No government jobs allowed. No union jobs allowed.
Oh, and no government bureaucrat or agency would ever be allowed on the premises or have ANYTHING to say about ANYTHING.
And, I would oversee its board of governors. They would be Allen West, Ted Cruz, Dr. Carson, Mike Lee, Trey Gowdy, Sarah Palin. They would meet once a year and tweak policies as they felt appropriate.
Ok, ok, I get it!.......so save it!!! I can dream can’t I ?!
I'll bet even most average Dems understand the problem. But it is the lib pols, academicians, and pundits who dictate liberal policy which is ruining the country. They're less than five percent of the total population. They must be stopped before the country is totally ruined.
I like your ideas. These feral youth need something of a boot camp experience to instill some semblance of civilized behavior. Clearly they don’t get it at home, or in their ghetto environment. Civilization itself depends upon certain behavior on the part of all of us. Unfortunately, feral black youth are, as a group, prone to savage behavior and lacking in impulse control. They don’t know it, but they would all be better off for having gone through something such as what you describe. They would be better off, and society as a whole would benefit.
