I’ve just returned from Kroger’s so I’ve yet to see the Chris Wallace’s show.

One of my dead husband’s used to cook with Cumin (seeds) all the time, (when he was alive of course). I love fresh Cilantro. Don’t know what I’d do with Coriander. Good luck.
:)

India is another big polluter; and, as I understand it, neither China nor India would sign on to or be affected by whatever carbon and GW regulations were put into practice world wide. Though apparently Sect’y John F. Kerry (he served in Vietnam you know) was just speaking with China about same this past week, so who knows, maybe China will change and Kerry will get a prestigious Nobel Award.

One other dumb thing - the environmental wackos have forbidden clearing any dead growth from forests for years, which makes those forests tinder boxes (as we’ve seen with all the forest fires in the west over the years). I think a lot of these regs have been put in by the “(not so) wise ones” on the east coast that have never visited an old growth forest in the western US. Just think of how many toads, slugs, special beetles, White Spotted Owls, etc. (not to mention homes and businesses) they could save if they would allow the deadwood to be cleared.

Well, I’m completely involved with our local TEA Party now and we’re trying our very best to unseat Cochran. We’ve THAD enough of that corrupt fossil. I was YOUNG when he went to Washington, D.C., and I’m OLD now and he’s even older! JMJ, he’s at least 76.

When the Anglo-Americans came to California, at least in mass, they were looking for gold. If they had to tear up the wilderness to get it; so be it. And they did. San Francisco, a sleepy little village barely a few acres in size on the bay side expanded to a big city that pretty much gobbled up that wilderness, too. But the Earth, as it is wont to do, healed itself over time, and the dug hills and streams, the placers and mines collapsed and where filled in over time, and the forests regrew. But not San Francisco! Because later when the gold played out, men looked at the great valley and said, if we could just get water here, we could make this place bloom. so they dammed the rivers, built irrigation cannels, drained swamps and flooded deserts. And ALL was good. Millions came to California that would otherwise not.

Brilliant example! Some members of my ancestor's family heard the call of the California Gold Rush and rushed out there in 1850. But their expertise was market gardening and orchards, so they bought land in Santa Clara county and grew the food that the people coming to CA needed.

I had an old, large Toshiba that went out last Nov. They were definitely built to last!!!

Watched TV in my bedroon for a while, then headed to Costco and got a Samsung flat screen for what I thought was a good price (about $300 - I think it was a little less as they had an in-store rebate at the time). I asked the guy in the TV section which one they had the least amount of returns with and he said the Samsung by far (lot less that Visio, though my sister and BIL have a Visio for a while and seem to be happy with it).

I only got a 32” as it needed to fit a space, but it has a good picture and sound.

Yum!!

I also happen to like the dried mangoes from Costco. IIRC they have some sugar on them, so haven’t bought them in a while - - I use them as a treat instead of chocolate, but I do love my chocolate!

And another thing about our tree fetish -

Tree branches and power lines are not compatible. If Americans (primarily east coast) want to have electricity all winter they should consider not planting trees under power lines. I would back any agency, local, state or federal, that wrote some common sense regulations addressing our “need” for trees trumping our need for electricity.

Think of the savings of the millions of hours spent rewiring power lines due to fallen branches and entire trees.

“St Patty’s day only a month away”

Wow - this year is going by fast! I’ll have to get some corned beef - - love to make it with cabbage, red potatoes and carrots, but haven’t done so in a while. I normally get the corned beef at Costco (they have a good brand - don’t recall what it is right now, may be Fletcher’s) and it’s too much for just me, so will have to plan a dinner.

Between the recipes for Pat and thinking about corned beef, I’m getting hungry.

Hi Morgan!

Hope you’re doing well!

From what I’ve read, another issue for CO and WA is where the marijuana stores can stash their cash. Most stores are cash only and banks cannot legally take the cash.

I read something the other day that Soros is putting a lot of $$s into legalizing marijuana, too (among other things). Didn’t surprise me in the least.

Last I read the banks were changing to where they could let them bank. I’m thinking the Holder AG’s office is ignoring the federal laws on that but I’m not sure. But, you’re right. That’s been a topic in the news lately.

Indeed, and history proves that it was men like your ancestors who truly made California the Golden State, not the extremely few lucky enough to find gold. For every miner that struck it rich, thousands did not.

At one time we celebrated men like this. About the time the television western disappeared, we switched over to the sensitive girly man character that so far now defines the left.

As Simon and Garfunkel once sang, where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio?
