Nope. The study measures what percentage of families with 15-17 year old children have 2 parents who were married for the kids' whole lives. So divorced and never married are treated the same.
I’d also like to see the age of marriage
in the South and the percentage of people
who actually get married. Same for the
number of children. Compare to the “North.”
I think marriage and children are considered
blessings in the South; in the “North,” they
are more likely to consider children as injurious to
“Mother Earth.”
If so, then Southerners might rush into marriage
and children earlier. Later they also get bitten
by the “self fulfillment” bug from Northern culture.
All conjecture, of course.
