Same and am switching to double stacked mag pistols to more effectively protect myself.
I have begun carrying a Browning Hi-Power with a 15 round Mec-Gar mag which protrudes only a tiny bit below the pistol butt. My spare is a 20 round also by Mec-Gar. This is mostly because of all the stories of outrageous Black conduct since Obama and Holder have emboldened them.
I wish I still had a Sig Sauer P226 but the Browning is just as reliable. I wish it was double action but carrying it cocked and locked is not really as dangerous as it sounds.
I also keep a 30 round mag of unknown make in my car, tho it is probably Argentine military. It is of very high quality or I would not keep it.
Ii do keep a look out as everyone should.
