Sadly, true. And just as true is that it is not primarily government that is needed to fix this. Indeed, it may well be that government has worsened the problem. The nuclear family has been all but destroyed in the black community, and I believe that is the biggest cause of many of the problems in the inner city and black community. And some of that destruction can absolutely be laid at the feet of government policies.

Government can help in certain ways, such as getting out of the way. Implement school choice, etc. But the heavy lifting is going to have to come from within the black community itself. Strong families lead to good things, more often than not. And no government program can do that.

Maybe teach them to actually read and write and maybe even speak real English? You could also throw in a little tutelage on the correct way to wear clothes and then maybe teach them what a belt is and what it's used for.

I pity anyone who has to work alongside people who were given the job because of their race instead of real qualifications; it is very stressful. There is job security in it (since somebody has to do the real work), but they are exposed to behavior and attitudes normally only seen on TV.
