It took thirteen months for the State Department to respond to the request for the costs of such dinners, but here they are! In DC, careers get MADE at these parties. Social status for the fat and wealthy is determined by the number of invites you get to these. One of the major reasons the press hated Bush is because he held only one or two of these big parties a year.

Bush knew what these parties were, and refused to play the game. GOD, how they hated him for it.
One guy at the upcoming dinner will be a filthy Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey.

Duh, what we need is a separate White House budget that gets cut 2 % each time Obama sends out an Executive Order.

The voters in Ohio are simply overjoyed that the US House RINO Members have loyally continued to keep in place a weak, cowardly, permissive, doormat Speaker who has ALWAYS caved in to Obama.
Boehner’s Speakership is safe, as our House RINOs just love to Cave In to Commies, Socialists, Democrats, and especially to Obama.

The problem as I see it right now is that this administration is not being even remotely sensitive to the plight of the average American (not welfare queens and dregs) who has lost their employment, home, etc.
These kinds of things have been going on for years, but when you add in the numerous unneccessary traveling, vacations, etc., this is just more salt in the wounds...
The USA is broke, actually, beyond broke...these kinds of things need to be eliminated until we’re back to some level of fiscal balance...

The First Course, American Osetra Caviar, farmed from the estuaries of Illinois, is paired with quail eggs from Pennsylvania and twelve varieties of potatoes from farms in New York, Idaho, and California.
The Salad Course is petite mixed radish and baby carrots, served on a bed of merlot lettuce with a red wine vinaigrette. The Winter Garden Salad pays tribute to The First Lady’s White House Kitchen Garden. Even when covered with snow, the winter vegetables in the White House Kitchen Garden continue to thrive, and little hints of spring are already starting to sprout.
The Main Course, Dry-aged Rib Eye Beef, is sourced from a family owned farm in Greeley, Colorado and served with a Jasper Hill Farm Blue Cheese crisp from Greensborough, Vermont.
The dessert is a celebration of American traditions and produce. The Chocolate Malted Cake is a modern version of an all- American layer cake presented in a geometric form. This dish combines bittersweet chocolate from Hawaii, tangerines from Florida, and is served à la mode with vanilla ice cream from Pennsylvania.
After dinner, guests can enjoy fudge made from Vermont maple syrup, lavender shortbread cookies, and cotton candy dusted with orange zest.
