Cops are trained in CPR. But many wont do it. I guess its up to the officers.
I cant blame them for not doing it in a bar after a barfight or a driveby shooting, when bad guys are still lurking about. But at a car crash, when one officer is already doing it, I cant see why not help.
BTW.....new CPR standards call for not doing mouth to mouth anymore.
Several years ago I was in a company sponsored CPR class and this is what the instructor told us:
1) If you do not know the person, think twice about performing CPR.
2) All of the State Polices Officers are certified in CPR. Their union instructs them that this is not part of their job and do not administer. Rather they are instructed to wait for the CPR.
Wonder how much of this played into this situation?
