Just to put things in perspective, a less than 22% of eligible voters in NYC went out to vote last November.
That means a mere 15% or so of NYC voters voted for this jerk ( the rest went to his opponent, Joe Lhota ).
The rest of NYC were apathetic.

Why honor a “religion” that killed people on 9/11 and at Ft. Hood. That would be tantamount to having a religion honoring Japanese right after Pearl Harbor. There are no Christian or Jewish holidays honored in any public schools. It’s either called Winter Break or Spring break. And no, I was not being sarcastic.

this could be a good thing..... find a few more holidays (Camel Appreciation Day, Blow Up A Church Day, Behead a Jew Day, Polygamy Celebration Day, Bomb an Infidel Kindergarten Day....?) and ... pretty soon the crappy public schools will be shut down for good.
