Vladimir Putin's latest meeting with an endangered predator ended on a sour note when an endangered Persian leopard he met at a Sochi nature reserve attacked reporters.
A smiling Mr Putin was pictured cuddling a six-month old feline called From in its enclosure at breeding centre near Sochi on Tuesday.
"We made friends," he said. "We've decided to restore the population of the Persian leopard because of the Olympic Games. Let's say that because of the Olympic Games, we have restored parts of destroyed nature."
But the animal reportedly liked the Russian president much more than his entourage, scratching one accompanying reporter on the hand and biting another on the knee, Russian media reported.

Our pansy president would be afraid to hold, pet and communicate with this Persian leopard
hehe
Why does this make me think of an Abbot and Costello bit?
Here: Where are you from?
From: Here.
Here: What?
From: HERE!
Here: No need to shout. Now answer my question, where are you from?
From: Now listen here, I told you I’m here, hear?
Here: I know where you are, I asked where are you from?
From: I just told you!
Here: Told me what?
From: Told you I’m here.
Here: You’re not Here, I’m Here!
From: We both can’t be here?
Here: Can’t be what?
From: Here.
Here: WHAT?
and so forth...
Makes me wonder whether Vin Diesel (aka Riddick) is a Republican. We need somebody for whom “It’s an animal thing”.
I heard the scratched reporter’s name is Claude Bahls.
This is actually pretty cool. Ted Cruz should get an attack leopard to maul Wolf Blitzer and Rachel Maddow. Tear up the yellow press... literally!
Yet Persian communists are fine (i.e. Frau Jarrett)
Viennacon, great idea. Love it.
But on the other hand, polonium doesn’t eat pounds of meat every day.
Hey Vlad, old buddy, old pal, reckon we could borrow that cat for awhile? We promise to keep him well fed and exercised.
