Same here, and it appears to me that the ad was designed to provoke outrage.
Coke already had a pre-canned response ginned up for the inevitable backlash, and liberal blogs had already set phasers to “Racist.”
“... liberal blogs had already set phasers to Racist....”
The thing is they aren’t even smart enough to realize the backlash to this ad is NOT “racist”...
No one cares what “color” or “race” the singers were...only that a sone honoring America and living in America should be sung in English, the native language, and NOT the language of another country....
I don’t think anyone saw anything at all wrong with the older Coke commercial with the song, “I’d like to teach the world to sing” which was done by many nationalities....(color or race)....
You bet. This is no different from when those SOBs at coke came up with that 1971 ad, "I'd like to buy the world a coke". All that bullcrap about living in harmony! All those white, brown, and black people standing there with the coke in their hands. You can find it on YouTube.
Mexicans buy a lot of cokes. Vincente Fox started as a coke truck driver, eventually became president of Coke Mexico and then President of Mexico.
Which do you think tastes best, the Mexican coke or the American coke?
Or, as some say, is this just another attempt by the Americans to impose their culture on the rest of the world?
