The rights of a transgender girl from Orono were violated when school administrators made her use a staff bathroom at her elementary school instead of the girls’ restroom, the Maine Supreme Judicial Court ruled Thursday.
The ruling is the first in which a state supreme court has affirmed a transgender person’s right to equal access to restrooms in places of public accommodation.
Lawyers representing Nicole Maines, who is now 16, said the decision could lay a foundation for other states’ courts that are facing questions about the emerging rights of people who identify as the opposite of their birth gender.
In 2007, when Nicole was in the fourth grade, her family and school counselors, teachers, doctors and others formed a plan for how her gender status would be handled in future grades. Teachers and students were encouraged to stop using the name Wyatt and call her Nicole.
She was later diagnosed with gender dysphoria, a recently formed medical diagnosis that describes the psychological distress experienced by people whose gender identification is contrary to the gender they had at birth.

This is the parents fault. Sure, its funny to see a little boy put on Mommy’s shoes for a second, but then parents need to step up and make him take off the pink and high heels even if he is just a silly 2 year old boy playing. Its just not healthy. Instead the parents, brainwashed by a sick society, saw his little game as some sort of gender confusement and started up with the therapists and doctors.
This sick parenting continued and government school teachers joined in calling the poor boy a girl in the third grade. Everyone involved should be fired.
They even let this confused child dress as a girl in the 4th grade as if nothing was wrong with it as even more counselors and doctors joined in with the “its normal” BS. They even forced other children to call the boy a girl. They should all lose their licenses for such abuse on the other kids.
Now, just as this child’s normal male body is about to go thru puberty they are pumping him full of drugs to make sure the normal development of this boy does not take place.
All of this, the lies and the drugs are perfectly legal.
Yet if the parents wanted to get counseling for a child to help resist homosexual confusion, it would be illegal to have a professional even speak with them about such resistance(let alone use drugs).
How sad the parents can legally get their child’s penis cut off, but other parents can’t even get a professional to talk negatively about homosexual attraction.
The kid was obviously suffering, no denying that. Mental illness hurts as bad as any other kind. But his family turned to the same make-it-up-as-we-go-along-to-be-politically-correct experts that have made a complete joke of America’s mental health system, and from age 2 to age 16, a young boy has been transformed by drugs and therapy into a sideshow freak. The people who inspired this should be removed from all future human contact. Throw them in a dungeon, and let them use a bucket as their restroom.
